A DISCUSSION ON URBANIZATION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF CHONGQING

Facing the 21st, the central govemment makes a significant strategic decision on exploiting west China. Choosing the e-conomic growth pole of west China is the prerequisite of exploition. Urban is the core of region as well as the pool of productivity,science and technology. Urban construction can drive the development of regional economy. This paper analyzes the urbanizationlevel and economic development of Chongqing and approaches some impending problems of Urban development in Chongqing. It issuggested that urban construction is the key of improving development of western regional economy.
