Urban index and urban management
本文从概念上阐述城市指标与城市管理的关系，回顾全球自60年代以来的应用，总结联合国人居署城市指标项目的演变趋势与经验，并展望新阶段对中国城市规划管理的启示。
In this paper the authors firstly articulate the relationship between indicators and urban management from a conceptual perspective; then the application of indicators across the world was briefly reviewed since 60's; later the attention is given to the evolving trend of urban indicators program in UN-Habitat and lessons learned from that process are summarized in a general way; finally the authors outlook the newly incoming phase of urban indicators program within UN-Habitat and discuss the implication of that to urban planning and management activities in China.
