City Transformation and Economic Spatial Expansion in the Progress of Metropolis Strategy:Case of Xiaoshan City

Xiaoshan used to be a county-level city which was adjacent to the key city Hangzhou;it is now an important component of Hangzhou.This article intends to summarize the transformation of regional cities development and spatial economy expansion in the premise of integrated metropolis strategy of Hangzhou and Xiaoshan.It examines the macro context of urbanization and needs of realities for implementing metropolis strategy;explores the urbanization effects of metropolis strategy and intensive development of regional and urban economies.It then after traces the government roles in the progress of metropolis strategy,discusses issues of equal citizenship rights and their solutions in the integrated cities region of Hangzhou and Xiaoshan.
