Abstract

Location has a very important effect on the profit of hotels. In this paper, it is explained that the differences of spatial influence mechanism of site elements (such as market, land price, convergence and so on) between commercial establishments and recreation facilities. So according to the analysis the author takes Nanjing City as a case and presents the following conclusions: (1) the influence mechanism are obviously different between these two kinds of establishments; (2) the grading structure of hotels shows different pyramid forms in different urban districts; (3) the spatial distribution of hotels is affected comprehensively by such elements as traffic, commerce and land price, etc. Hotels trend to converge near traffic arteries, in the commerce districts and beauty spots; (4) Especially, traffic, land price and convergence of hotels have an evidently effect on the accommodation rates of hotels.
