STRATEGY OF THE NEW URBANIZATION IN HENAN PROVINCE
探讨河南省新型城镇化战略，以郑州-开封城市群为增长极，构建多层级城镇体系，目标到2020年城镇化率达50%，促进城乡融合与可持续发展。
Due to the gradually obvious malpractices occurred in traditional urbanization,the new urbanization which targets to promote urban-rural integration,conserve resources and ensure sustainable development has become a clear developing tendency.Taking Zhengzhou and Kaifeng City area as the growth pole,the new urbanization of Henan Province relys on the city group in central China and makes effort to build a new city and town system consisting of the regional core cities classified by state,province and county level,featured towns and even new rural communities.Insisting on compact urban layout this new urbanization of Henan Province strives to walk out a distinctive road of resource-saving,environmentally friendly,cost-effective,cultural prosperity,social harmony,urban and rural arrangement,coordinated development of big,small and medium-sized cities and small towns,and to construct national demonstration base in the large agricultural rovince.By 2020,the urbanization rate of Henan province will reach 50%,Zhengzhou and Kaifeng city will concentrate 8-10 million population,the economic strength of the city group in central China will be increased remarkablely,and its influence in the central and western regions will be further enhanced accordingly.Urban infrastructure and public services will be more complete and perfect,the overall transportation capacity will be strengthened owing to the construction of three-dimensional urban traffic system.The integration of urban and rural will be significantly improved,the income gap between rural and urban residents will be gradually narrowed,social harmony has been initially formed,and the environment will be improved greatly.
