EXPERIENCE AND LESSONS OF LONDON'S NEW TOWN PLANNING AND ITS REVELATION TO BEIJING
基于作者在伦敦一年的研究，分析了伦敦新城规划的成功经验（人本主义、科学规划、有效立法和灵活管理）与教训（意识形态、规划方法、管理系统等），为北京的新城建设提供启示。
The paper is based on data collected during the author’s one-year study visit in London.With these materials,the author did a special research on London’s new town planning and building.London’s successful experience lies in the Humanism ideology and practice,scientific and rational planning and design approaches,effective law legislation and flexible management systems.Its lessons and deficiencies were specifically elaborated.The problematic areas include new town ideology,planning methodology,management systems,regional cooperation and social planning etc.London’s historical experience and lessons can provide useful revelation to Beijing’s ongoing new town practice.
