COMPREHENSIVE STUDY OF AMERICAN MEGALOPOLISES AND ITS ENLIGHTENMENT
研究了20世纪下半叶美国城市化从大城市向大都市带转变的过程，分析其社会经济作用，为中国城市群建设提供借鉴。
Since the last half of 20th century,American urbanization witnessed a fundamental change,the traditional magnetic center of population shifted from cities to metropolises,huge metropolises have experienced development of priority.At the same time,population in the city centers of huge metropolises move out into its suburbs,physical sprawling of several huge metropolises leads to melting and overlapping of their satellite cities or suburbs,thus came into being the megalopolis.As the carriers of American cities,megalopolises are playing a vital role in social,economical and cultural life of America,and became the locomotive of economic development.The thesis aims to have a comprehensive study of American megalopolises in hope to find some enlightenment for the construction of city clusters of China.
