The Integration and Interaction Between Information Technology and Service Innovation——An Empirical Analysis of Panel Data from Guangdong Province
研究了2000-2010年广东省21个城市的信息技术与服务创新的关系,发现两者正相关且存在双向格兰杰因果关系,但发展不均衡,呈现核心-边缘空间分布。
There has been no sector-level quantitative analysis on how ICT and service innovation integrates and interacts with each other, even though the popular use of ICT and its integration with service innovation have become an important vehicle to realize industrial upgrading. A study based on the evaluation comparison of ICT and service innovation in 21cities of Guangdong Province for the period from 2000 to 2010 has found that ICT content correlates to the level of service innovation in a positive way, yet their development are non-equilibrium, in which case a pattern of core-periphery spatial distribution is noted. The research reveals that a stabilized equilibrium and two- way granger causality between ICT and service innovation exists in nearly all regions of the Guangdong Province. Either in a short period of time, or for a longer time, information technology and service innovation influence each other in a positive way, with a remarkably higher estimated coefficient in the northern hilly area of the Province. However, information technology's short term effect on service innovation seems to be more obvious than its long- term balanced effect. On the contrary, service innovation affects information technology more on a long term basis than over a short period of time.
