On the Key Propositions of the Production of Urban Space: A Case Study in Wuhan
运用新马克思主义空间生产理论，分析武汉五个典型案例，探讨空间生产中的资本化负面效应、政府角色、动员式生产问题及公众参与规划等议题。
This paper aims to apply the neo-Marxist theory of Production of Space to delve into the issues related to the social production of space in the modern Chinese cities.After a brief discussion on the four core theoretical propositions of the production of space,the article thoroughly analyzes five typical cases of the production in Wuhan city.Besides,it presents and discusses a series of questions as follows: What are the negative effects of capitalization in the course of spatial production? What role does the government play in the production of space? Why does themobilized production of urban space need to be rectified? How do the public participate in establishing and implementing the city plan?
