THE STUDY ON THE TRAFFIC PROBLEMS OF VALLEY-CITY --A CASE STUDY OF LANZHOU CITY

The paper discusses the traffic problems of the valley-city in the limited sense. If the planning of the valley-city is not proper there were more and serious traffic problems which will appear earlier comparing with the plain-city having the same scale and conditions. Because the most of the valley-city will be of larger scale,stronger urban function,and more urban land in the future they need the modern traffic system to satisfy the need of the social and economic sustainable development. This paper offers the tactics and advises on the construction of the modern traffic system of the valley-city through a case study of Lanzhou,a typical valley-basin city of the Gansu province in China.
