Social Network Analysis in Geo-Politics Studies
综述了社会网络分析在地缘政治研究中的应用，包括国家间政治经济关系网络（如政府间组织网络、贸易网络）的分析，并指出该方法在中国地缘政治研究中应得到更多重视。
Social network analysis(SNA) has been widely used in many disciplines in the past twenty years.It was originated from sociology and spread to other divisions in social science very quickly.Geo-politics focuses on interstate relations from the geographical perspective and can apply SNA to analyze the relations between nations.After a brief introduction of the major theory and methods of SNA,this paper provides a thorough literature review focusing on the application of SNA in geo-politics research.It is found that SNA has been used to illustrate the interstate politic and economic relations,including IGO networks,trade networks and so forth.SNA can also be used to analyze the structure and effect of all kinds of networks.Moreover,the results from SNA can be incorporated into other tools to analyze how the network and its structure influence the international relationships.It is concluded that SNA is a powerful tool in Geopolitics studies and needs more attention in China.It is suggested that SNA should be used to evaluate China’s geopolitic environment in the future.
