The Socio-economical Zoning of the Suburb Hilly Rural Area in Beijing A Two-step Cluster Approach
针对北京郊区丘陵乡村地区，利用村级统计和空间数据，通过两步聚类方法进行社会经济分区，得出四类分区并分析各分区特征，为城乡平衡发展提供参考。
In the rapid urbanization process in China,suburban hilly rural areas in metropolises are facing very high pressure from both urbanization and ecological protection,constituting a key area in balancing urban and rural development.Due to differences in location and other resource endowment,the socio-economical development of these areas varies vastly.As a result,the socio-economical zoning,especially in terms of urbanization and industry development,is of great importance.This paper,taking the case of Beijing,explored a new two-step clustering approach and conducted a socio-economical zoning of the area.Taking advantage of village-level detailed statistical and spatial data,an indicator system was invented and applied,and a four-category zoning was concluded.A significance analysis of the factors was also conducted to help qualitatively understand the feature of each zoning group,and a general sequence of urbanization and industry development of suburb hilly rural areas was summarized accordingly.
