Abstract

Based on the panel data of cropsown area of China's 29 provinces during 1980-2012, this paper apply spatial statistics methods to analyzing planting's spatial dependence and spatial heterogeneity at the geographical dimension of province, and further exploring the characteristics and changing trends of planting's geographic agglomeration. Our empirical result follows: in China, planting whether in the overall or local region, shows a significant positive spatial autocorrelation, with significant pattern of non- random geographic agglomeration and obvious spatial correlation and spatial heterogeneity, and with strong spatial spillover effects among provinces; at the same time, China's planting appeared obviouscore- peripheryspatial distribution model, and the core region of high- high agglomeration significantly expanded.
