Rural Tourist Destination in Urban Fringe: Research on Urbanization of Sansheng Community in Chengdu
研究以成都三圣社区为例，观察城市边缘乡村旅游目的地的城市化过程，发现旅游促进了城市蔓延而非保护乡村遗产的真实性。
Urban fringe is considered as the most dynamic zone in the current urbanized process of most Chinese cities,where challenges,opportunities and dangers coexist.It is characterized both naturally and socially,urbanized and rurally.Conflicts happen frequently here and development patterns have been experimentally carried out seeking for the balance between urban sprawl and ecological conservation.Tourism is playing an active role currently in the development of many urban fringe rural areas,promoting a series of transformation of land,economy,society and culture.This essay attempts to observe the urbanization process of rural tourist destination in the urban fringe through the concrete case of Sansheng Community.Chengdu.The results state a fact that tourism has been playing a positive part in promoting the urban sprawl in stead of maintaining the authenticity of rural heritages.
