Abstract

Producer services have become an important part of Chinese metropolitan economic development,which has affected the metropolitan spatial development directly as well. This paper specifically uses one case study-Guangzhou to explore the producer service distribution and polycentricity spatial structure by Herfindahl Index,Entropy of Information,Location Quotient,and spatial analysis based on the second economic census data in 2008. In conclusion,the paper regards that Guangzhou producer services highly cluster in CBD,disperse along the main road,preliminary appear suburbanization and lead to polycentricity; producer services industry have different concentration level in Guangzhou metropolis; The main driving forces affecting the distribution of Guangzhou productive service industry are location characteristics,market oriented and government planning policy; producer services make one employment subcentre appear and city centre disperse,but they impact on the Guangzhou polycentricity still weakly.
