ANALYSIS OF THE COORDINATION DEVELOPMENT BETWEEN INDUSTRIALIZATION AND URBANIZATION IN CHINA FROM 1978 TO 2001
构建了工业化与城镇化综合指数的协调度模型，分析了1978-2001年中国两者协调发展的时空格局，发现东部地区协调度较高，中西部较低，且协调度与经济发展水平空间对应。
Based on the implication of coordination development between industrialization and urbanization, the Coordination Degree Model (CDM) between comprehensive index industrialization and urbanization comprehensive index has been established. The temporal spatial distributions have been analyzed with CDM. The results show that: firstly, there obviously exist two stages of the coordination degrees from 1978 to 1991 and from 1992 to 2001, in which the former period is not harmony and the latter period is basically harmony; next, there exist belt differences of the spatial distributions of the coordination degrees, in which the most provinces (regions) in the eastern region are harmony but the most provinces (regions) in the middle western region are not. Lastly, the coordination development between industrialization and urbanization and the levels of economic development exist spatial corresponding relationship, which the coordination degrees are higher in some provinces where the levels of economic development are higher, otherwise, the coordination degrees are low.
