Abstract

This paper introduces two supermarkets in the Wenshadong District: HUIKELONG and ZHENSHIHUI, which had been the neighbourhood shopping centers and which had competed intensly. But HUIKELONG failed. Factors as commercial locations, customer conditions, attractions, management, service and propaganda are analysed. Conclusions come out that a good commercial location, flexible management, first-rank service and enough propaganda are important jobs for a supermarket. Besides, to take advantages of attractions nearby is good to the development of a supermarket. So, studying customers' shopping behavior, shopping psychology and shopping custom can benefit formulating an appropriate strategy.
