Discussion on the Intensive Use of Construction Land:An Explanation of Two-stage Land Utilization

Researches on the intensive use of construction land commenced in 1990s mainly borrowed theories from the studies on the agricultural land.And nonetheless,the utilization of construction land,which is phased and dynamic,is different from the utilization of agricultural land.This paper states that,the utilization of construction land should be observed as two stages of primary and secondary use,and the intensive use of construction land is thought to be pursuing a general target of continuously increasing the capacity of land for structures,population and economy.And correspondingly,the measurement of the intensive use of construction land is thought to differ from the primary use stage to the other.Additionally,China's national conditions determine that intensive use is demanded during both primary and secondary stages of construction land use.And our studies also indicate that there exists a trade-off between primary and secondary intensive use of construction land,and our saving of resources should be moderate.
