Eco-city construction has been becoming one of most important factors of urban sustainable development. Based on urban ecology theory and circular economy theory, the principles of eco-city conceptual model design. The components of the model include the concept, characteristics, and contents of the eco-city. The hierarchy of the model is composed of urban ecosystem (structure, function and flow) and eco-city pyramid (security, settlement, industry, landscape and culture).
