STRATEGIC ANALYSIS FOR THE WORLD HERITAGE APPLICATIONS IN CHINA:A CASE STUDY OF HANGZHOU'S WEST LAKE
回顾西湖申报世界文化遗产的历程，从遗产价值、城市发展和旅游管理三方面分析杭州的不足，并提出三项战略建议，对遗产申报和城市管理者有参考价值。
Base on a brief review of West lake's attempts in World Cultural Heritage application during the past years,Hangzhou's weaknesses appeared in the application process was analyzed from three perspectives,namely,heritage value,city development and tourism management.As the conclusion of this article,three strategic recommendations were made by the authors: ①Zen can be employed as a new framework for the integration of West lake's historical and cultural elements;②regulations need to be involved early in the planning and design stage of city construction,through the enforcement of landscape ordinance;③more attentions need to be paid on the studies of West lake's tourist carry capacity and limitation measurements.
