Testing for Changes in Multinomial Observations: the Lindisfarne Scribes Problem

We propose maximally selected likelihood ratio and chi-square tests for testing possible changes in multinomial observations. The limit distributions are derived under the no changes null hypothesis. The results are applied to the Lindisfarne Scribes data.
