Using distributed cognition to re-design a collective bargaining course
描述了如何将传统的集体谈判课程改造为包含集体谈判成分的谈判课程,通过分布式认知方法重新设计模拟谈判练习,使其更真实、帮助谈判者更有效准备,并展示分布式认知概念。
This paper describes how a traditional “collective bargaining” course was transformed into a “negotiations” course that retained a significant collective bargaining component. As the course was changed, faculty members scrutinized the traditional „mock labor-management Collective Bargaining‟ negotiation exercise. By using a “distributed cognition” approach to managerial cognition as a set of organizing principles, the negotiation exercise was changed in several ways. The changes made the exercise more realistic, helped the negotiators prepare more effectively, and illustrated distributed cognition concepts. Evaluation data suggests that these changes have resulted in a more meaningful activity within the larger course.
