Children and Shopping: Some Public Policy Questions

Children begin to shop independently in the early school years. This paper describes some of the shopping tasks they need to perform and the cognitive skills which underlie those tasks. Parental controls and education are recommended to assist young shoppers who are still learning how to shop.
