Bridging Education Gender Gaps in Developing Countries: The Role of Female Teachers
研究女教师对缩小发展中国家女孩教育成果性别差距的效果,基于印度安得拉邦农村公立学校的大规模面板数据。
Recruiting female teachers is frequently suggested as a policy option for improving girls' education outcomes in developing countries, but there is surprisingly little evidence on the effectiveness of such a policy. The gender gaps in learning outcomes are studied, and the effectiveness of female teachers in reducing these gaps using a large, representative, annual panel data set on learning outcomes in rural public schools in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh is anlaysed.
