本文从国家视角审视创新,回顾英国贸易与工业部创新单元自1991年成立以来关注的六个关键领域,旨在提升英国社会将发明和创意转化为创新的能力。
Abstract This article provides a national perspective on innovation by reviewing the preoccupations of the Innovation Unit of the UK Department of Trade and Industry. Since its formation in 1991, this unit has addressed six areas central to the ability of UK society to become more effective in translating its stream of inventions and creative ideas into innovations—using the definition of innovation as ‘the successful exploitation of new ideas’. There are currently many initiatives underway, led by institutions, learned societies, universities and civil service departments, to make progress in the six areas: industry and business, government, academia, the finance community, the media and education.
