WORLD CLASS LOGISTICS PERFORMANCE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE LOGISTICS PRACTICES

Research over the past decade has independently examined the characteristics of both world-class logistics and environmentally responsible logistics (ERL). This research examines the plausibility of a linkage between these 2 distinct pursuits. Findings suggest that world-class performers tend to demonstrate greater adoption of environmentally responsible practices than their lower performing peers. In addition, the world-class competencies of positioning and measurement relate most closely to the adoption of ERL practices. The competencies of integration and agility proved less influential on such practices.
