Abstract

The article presents a response to the article “Foreign Knowledge Workers as a Strategic Staffing Option,” by Lawrence A. West, Jr. and Walter A. Bogumil, Jr. The author describes the shortage of skilled talent facing American organizations and the consequences such organizations are experiencing, such as a loss of productivity, unexecutable strategies, and delayed strategic implementations. These effects are especially being felt in U.S. high-tech industries. Several possible solutions to the labor shortage are examined.
