A Demographic Analogy for Shareowner Accounts
Abstract A demographic analogy suggests categories for statistical analysis of the shareowner accounts of a large corporation, using data from routine record-keeping systems. The study reveals unexpected stability of account closing rates over time, extremely high proportions of accounts closing soon after opening, and other features unnoticed in previous studies of stock ownership, most of which have focused on the market or the investor.
