包含三篇评论:前两篇分别讨论英国地方政府应对欧盟结构基金的战略准备和针对弱势群体的定制培训计划,第三篇探讨为城市贫困地区设计有效培训项目的问题。
In this Policy Review Section, Steve Martin and Graham Pearce of the Aston Business School examine some of the issues arising from the European Commission's invitation to UK local authorities to prepare regional development strategies in advance of the formulation of the precise arrangements for the allocation of the European Communities' Structural Fund assistance from 1994. In the second article Paul Foley of the Department of Corporate Strategy, Leicester Business School, and Jo Hutchinson of the Department of Town and Regional Planning, University of Sheffield, examine the emergence of Joblink schemes which seek to build a bridge between training programmes targeted at disadvantaged groups and the needs of employers through customized training schemes. In the third article Alistair Bruce of the School of Management and Finance, University of Nottingham, and David Clarson, the Manor Training and Resource Centre (located in Sheffield), examine the issue of developing effective training programmes for disdavantaged urban areas.
