In the third Article Hoe Lim of the Faculty of the Built Environment, University of Central England, critically examines the use of cultural strategies as a mechanism for urban regeneration in British cities. In the final Article Paul Foley of the Business School, De Montfort University, And Doug Watts And Brian Wilson of the Department of Geography, University of Sheffield, examine the implications for a local economic development strategy seeking to encourage the take up of new process technology and training of external ownership where plants are owned by firms based outside the local area.
