Editor's Note: We invited four executives familiar with executive compensation and severance arrangements to comment on the authors' perspectives and conclusions. It is interesting to note that our guest commentators are not as troubled by excesses in severance packages as the article's authors, in part because such arrangements appear to be in the “visible minority” and can be explained by time and circumstance.
