This issue contains a selection of papers from the Fifth European Workshop on Econometrics and Health Economics. The Workshop was held at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona on 11-14 September 1996 and Guillem Lopez-Casasnovas was the local organizer. The meeting was attended by 43 participants from 14 countries and the programme featured 14 papers, including a special session for presentations by doctoral students.
