Abstract

The demand for recycling and utilization of electronic waste (e-waste) is increasing, and how to better recycle and utilize resources while preventing the disclosure of personal privacy information has become the focus of attention. This article analyzes and evaluates the risks of personal information security in the recycling process of e-waste and presents the corresponding preventive measures, which are of great significance for protecting information security and improving the rate of recovery of e-waste. In this article, a personal information security risk analysis model for e-waste recycling is proposed using fuzzy set theory, grey relational analysis (GRA), and technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) to improve failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), also the traditional FMEA method, the FMEA method based on TOPSIS, and the fuzzy–GRA–TOPSIS and FMEA method are compared and analyzed. The results indicate a more valuable and helpful understanding of the security of personal information in e-waste recycling from a risk assessment perspective, and identify factors that have been less explored in previous articles; the failure mode of personal information security risk is evaluated under different methods, which contributes to the management of personal information security of e-waste recycling.
