Analysis of multiple gravitational influences on interregional population migration in South Korea
运用空间计量模型和贝叶斯方法,分析韩国区域间人口迁移的多重引力因素,发现人力资本差异是主要驱动力,同时考虑经济和人力资本差异能增强区域吸引力。
Migration is the result of complex interactions between different socio-economic factors in different areas. This study analyses the multiple gravitational influences on interregional migration in South Korea. Spatial econometric models are employed to incorporate spatial interactions between multiple socio-economic gravitational influences into spatial weight matrices. Using Bayesian posterior probabilities to evaluate models incorporating different gravitational influences, this study finds that the primary driver of migration is the difference in human capital conditions between areas. Furthermore, it suggests that the simultaneous consideration of differences in both economic and human capital conditions across areas increases the attractiveness of certain areas for migration.
