Research and publication practices of business school faculty in Ghana: a social practice perspective
本文采用社会实践视角,研究加纳商学院教师的研究与发表实践,提出一个整合框架来解释特定学术情境下的意义建构、应对策略和生成机制。
Current discourse on research and publication practices amongst academics in African business schools has focused on structural and systemic challenges accounting for the under-representation of Africa-focused scholarship in top-tier international management and organisation journals. This paper problematises this focus and investigates research and production practices of business school faculty in Ghana as lived experiences by employing a social practice approach. Introducing this approach brought the role of individual characteristics and biographies, agency and structure to the debate. The study presents an integrated framework for explaining and investigating research and publication practices in specific academic contexts. These border on sensemaking, coping strategies and generative mechanisms.
