基于心理抗拒理论,研究家族企业传承故事的长度和频率对传承效果的影响,发现故事频率与传承成功呈倒U型关系,而长度无显著效果。

Abstract

To investigate whether stories are effective for legacy transmission to a next-generation family-business audience, we draw from psychological reactance theory to suggest that the length and frequency of legacy narratives are not “more is better.” We find support for the hypothesis that the frequency of legacy storytelling exhibits an inverted U-shaped relationship with legacy transmission success via audience interest, while the length of legacy narratives does not yield a similar expected effect. Our study underscores the notion that the way in which a legacy story is told is critical to achieving the desired impact. It also suggests that audiences’ internalization of legacy signifies the success of legacy transmission, emphasizing their coconstructed role in transmitting legacy through stories.
