Green to stay? Mechanisms explaining green industrial resilience during an external shock
研究了新冠疫情如何影响挪威西部三个产业的绿色化活动,揭示了企业能力、市场条件、产业绿色化状态、区域产业构成和国家政策等机制如何解释产业在外部冲击下调整绿色化活动的韧性。
We analyse how COVID-19 as an external shock has influenced greening activities in three industries in Western Norway. Drawing on the evolutionary economic geography literature on green industrial path development and economic resilience, we provide fresh insights into the resilience of ongoing greening processes. Through qualitative case studies, we reveal that the capabilities of industry firms, market conditions, the greening status of the industry, the regional industry composition, and national policies are important mechanisms explaining how industries in regions adapt and alter greening activities in response to external shock. We also observe diversity in how these mechanisms operate across industries.
