In order to understand entrepreneurship in Arctic Canada research needs to examine how the entrepreneurial process is impacted by an entrepreneur’s embeddedness within a local entrepreneurial ecosystem. Study findings indicate that this defines the identity of an entrepreneur, shapes social networks, drives innovation, identifies market opportunities, secures access to resources, creates jobs and contributes to social and economic development. The study contributes to an understanding of Arctic entrepreneurship and provides insight for economic development in remote regions.
