Orchestration of agile capabilities and digital resources to foster SME export behavior in times of crisis: A mediation‐moderation analysis
研究了危机时期中小企业如何通过编排敏捷能力和数字资源来促进出口行为,发现敏捷能力显著影响出口,且数字资源起中介和调节作用。
Abstract Scholars and policymakers are increasingly recognizing the importance of dynamic capabilities in promoting the internationalization of small and medium‐sized enterprises (SMEs). However, we still know very little about how firms' capabilities and resources interact and how SME owner‐managers orchestrate them in turbulent and fast‐paced international environments. To address this issue, we incorporate superior digital resources as both a mediator and a moderator to clarify the influence of agile capabilities on SME export behavior during times of crisis. Drawing on a unique dataset encompassing 152 internationally oriented SMEs sourced from the Tunisian Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation Portal, this study embarks on a comprehensive exploration and rigorous testing of five hypotheses. Our findings underscore that agile capabilities play a significant role in explaining the SMEs' export behavior. The findings further exhibit strong evidence of the mediating and moderating effects of superior digital resources on this relationship. We discuss a range of theoretical and practical implications of these findings.
