Citizens’ engagement in coproduction through digital platforms: a survey experiment study in China
通过一项预注册的情景实验,研究了行政负担和透明度如何影响中国公民通过数字平台参与共同生产的意愿,发现降低行政负担和提升透明度均能显著促进参与,但两者无交互效应。
This study examines how administrative burden and transparency affect citizens’ willingness to engage in coproduction via digital platforms. In a preregistered vignette experiment, we find that lower administrative burden significantly increases participation, while digital transparency independently promotes engagement. Their interaction is insignificant, suggesting that the two factors operate through separate rather than synergistic mechanisms. These findings advance research on administrative burden, transparency, and digital governance by clarifying how platform design can encourage citizens’ coproduction.
