Abstract The article examines the influences of post-Keynesian authors of the Cambridge School, particularly Nicholas Kaldor, on Celso Furtado’s theory of economic development. Furtado developed an original approach to understanding the challenges faced by underdeveloped countries, incorporating ideas from authors like Kaldor into his theory to construct his economic model. Kaldor contributed to the understanding of the dynamics of economic development, providing analytical tools that Furtado adapted to the specific context of Latin America. These post-Keynesian influences enriched Furtado’s theory of economic development, providing a solid foundation for his policy proposals and contributing to his lasting impact in the field of economic development.
