Mapping the Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Firm Performance: A Bibliometric Review
通过分析2287篇Web of Science文献,用文献计量方法梳理了人工智能影响企业绩效的研究模式与趋势,为管理者和政策制定者提供实践启示。
ABSTRACT Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a significant driver of improvement and progress, with a profound impact on various areas of human activity. According to the existing body of scientific literature, AI possesses the potential to profoundly transform human society by automating complex processes, improving decision‐making capabilities, reshaping the nature of work, and expediting scientific discovery. However, it remains unclear how AI influences firm performance (FP), due to the complexity of the relationship and the many aspects and issues involved. In this study, a bibliometric analysis of 2287 articles from the Web of Science, was conducted to identify patterns and trends related to the topic. This analysis was supported by the use of Biblioshiny and CiteSpace software. It comprises both a performance and a science mapping analysis. The analysis successfully answered all three posed research questions and observed notable scientific research gaps, such as evidence, knowledge and population gaps. This study offers practical insights for both practitioners and policymakers. It helps managers identify effective AI areas to enhance FP while reducing implementation risks. For policymakers, the findings support the development of responsible AI strategies, skill‐building programs, and measures to mitigate potential negative impacts such as job displacement or privacy concerns.
