Personalism and sex in tourism
本文运用人格主义哲学,探讨旅游者在性行为中如何从“我-它”心态转向“我-你”心态,以理解旅游者与“他人”的关系。
Over recent years tourism academic scholarship has enhanced our understanding of the motivations of sex tourists but has offered minimal theoretical reflection as to how the wider tourist population who engage in sexual practices whilst travelling relate to ‘others’. Human relations are at the centre of all of society's sexual activities. To further understand these relations, the present paper applies the philosophy of personalism to the social ecological model of ‘sex in tourism’, asking how tourists can shift from an I-it mindset to an I-thou mindset. With specific reference to the Christian personalism of Karol Wojtyla this paper reflects on how tourists might perceive their own subjective self, whilst also seeing other stakeholders as persons in their own right.
