Abstract This article explores the range of applicable problem-solving judgments in taxation that can become the basis for artificial intelligence (AI) technology modeling and it will outline the classes of problem-solving behavior with a special emphasis on the categories that are most amenable to AI modeling. The techniques for knowledge representation and the important dimensions of decision making will be discussed. This will also provide an overview of artificial intelligence concepts and reviews some previous AI works in taxation domain. AI techniques for modeling decisions and representing knowledge are most appropriately used when the decision behavior under study has certain characteristic features.
